Discover what players are saying about indie games
Gameplay is clearly inspired by Paper Mario TTYD, the story premise is good and gameplay is fun. I loved the "global" worldbuilding as well as the individual worldbuilding of each area. The secondary missions had pretty funny stories. Final battle game me chills even though I was very ready for it and almost breezed through it. Would recommend it if you're a fan of Paper Mario TTYD or simply want to try out a cool indie RPG.

It's an amazing game for those who like racing at high speeds, with retro graphics and power-ups! With it's 3 distinct physics/handling models, so if the "standard" 2159-physics are not quite your style, you can try the 2280-model that feels closer to Wipeout HD. You have the option for split-screen, as well as LAN/online racing against other players. I play with a controller - left stick controls turn + pitch, and yes, you have to pitch your ship to follow slopes (especially at higher speeds). In addition, RT and LT control the right and left airbrakes respectively. You use these to slow down when necessary, and to drift through corners. It's a suuuuper satisfying feeling to get this right, you've got to try it at least once before you judge it! If you really don't like the pitching-aspect, the floor-hugger-physics lets you ignore pitch entirely. There are several game-modes - Race, Team Race, Time Trial, Speed Lap, Survival, Knockout, Eliminator, Upsurge, Rush Hour, and Stunt (technically there is also Attract, but that's just AI racing each other, so yeah...). You have tons of settings you can fiddle with to bring the experience to be exactly how you want it to be, at least in the "Custom Race" modes - adjust weapon damage, collision damage, respawn or one life, AI speed and skill, enable/disable specific weapons/powerups, and way way more. In addition, there is a Campaign that takes you through all of the game's content - however do not expect a cool story to be told or anything, it really is just a collection of different races and gamemodes. Ironically, the game does have a lot of lore available, but it's mainly found in written form and is not immediately obvious. A big feature of the game is it's modding capability. The devs have made it very accessible to mod this thing, with Steam Workshop integration and an in-game 3D ship/skin viewer. To make custom skins, all you need is a photo editing program (GIMP is free), and off you go! ;-) The game is DRM-free on both Steam and GOG. These things are a major good-faith sign from the developers that they care about the long-term viability of this product! It is, unfortunately, not the most popular game in the world. To find a multiplayer match you probably need to get onto their Discord (https://discord.gg/ballisticng). But there are weekly races going on, and people are often willing to join you if you are willing to host, regardless of driving skill and game-settings. Hop on and enjoy the fun.
A deceptively simple game that was incredibly fun. Ultimately you manipulate your standard playing card deck to make it better at meeting the needs of the joker cards you have to make big number go up. Do it right and big number go up real good, then number of hours played go up real fast
The game has you working your way up a tower figuring out the languages of the people who live at different levels. Along the way you help different people, unravel the mysteries of the tower, and use the language you learn to solve puzzles. Good fun, fantastic storytelling through changes in environment.
A narrative heavy , choose your own adventure game. It a fantasy light (the Witcher similar) game with interesting choices. It builds an interesting world for which you act as a roadwarden (medieval highway patrol) and assst the surrounding villages The downside is the lack of voice acting.
Didnโt see the first shark for about half an hour โ a tiger โ thirteen footer. You know how you know that when youโre in the water, Chief? You tell by lookinโ from the dorsal to the tail. What we didnโt know was our bomb mission had been so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didnโt even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisinโ. So we formed ourselves into tight groupsโฆthe idea was, the shark comes to the nearest man and he starts poundinโ and hollerinโ and screaminโ. Sometimes the shark go away. Sometimes he wouldnโt go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya, right into your eyes. Yโknow, the thing about a shark, heโs got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a dollโs eyes. When he comes after ya, he doesnโt seem to be livinโ until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white, and then โ aww, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screaminโ, the ocean turns red, and in spite of all the poundinโ and the hollerinโ, they all come in and rip ya to piecesโฆin that first dawn, we lost a hundred men. I donโt know how many sharks, maybe a thousand. I donโt know how many men. They averaged six an hourโฆNoon the fifth day, Mr. Hooper, a Lockheed Ventura saw us. He swung in low and he saw usโฆand he come in low and three hours later, a big fat PBY [seaplane] comes down and start to pick us up. You know, that was the time I was most frightened โ waitinโ for my turn. Iโll never put on a life jacket again. So, eleven hundred men went in the water, three hundred and sixteen men come out, and the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.

If you enjoyed Langrisser, Advanced Wars, Unicorn Overlord and other games from this genre, you'll enjoy this game. Story is cliche, but we're not there for the story. The gameplay, combat and customization is so satisfying that you could care less for the story and just want for more battles.
Brotato is simple, it's a potato dropped onto a square; Brotato is a shopper, you can collect all the things; Brotato is a game, it shoots the (aliens?) for you. Listen, part of the joy I have found in Indie games is the simple, no nonsense, straight up gameplay that they can offer. Brotato, with its 20 levels of more arcade-y action leveling harkens back to the flash games of old. It's $5. It's a potato that collects up to 6 weapons that auto-target the closest enemy. You get money every round to strengthen your build. It has tons of characters that drastically change the way you will approach the 20-level onslaught. Enough nuance to that different stats/weapon combos will test your gaming prowess. Is it deep? No. Is it fun? HELL YES! What more could you ask for of your $5?
On mobile this game excellent. On the medium difficulty it was a very enjoyable experience on the first playthrough, and on the hardest difficulty it was quite a challenge. I would highly recommend giving it a shot as it was loads of fun and a run could be completed in only a small handful of hours.
In recent times, we've had a resurgence of Souls-like games, due to the popularity of Dark Souls and Elden Ring. While it's not my favourite genre, I do enjoy it, and hell, Elden Ring has become one of my all time favourite RPGs. But something was missing. It's been a while since I've played an Elder Scrolls game, and the trio of Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim being some of my personal favourites, I've definitely missed playing Scrolls games. Honestly, with how AAA companies are these days, I'm not sure if Elder Scrolls VI will deliver. I hope it does, but I have my doubts. So, we have a ton of Souls-likes, but not enough Scrolls-likes. Until now... Enter Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. An RPG that is heavily inspired by the Elder Scrolls series in terms of gameplay, and it most definitely delivered. From start to finish, I enjoyed my time with the game indefinitely, with just a few minor hindrances. On top of feeling like a true successor to Skyrim, it also has a few Souls elements, like dodging, which is highly encouraged, especially early on, as some enemies and especially bosses deal a lot of damage. You also have bonfires to rest and level up at. The story, while nothing special, was still pretty good and knew when to take itself seriously. But even with how dramatic it can be, it also knows when to be lighthearted. I mean, for Arthur's sake, you have a goofy side quest that gives you a spell, which turns people into cheese! Sheogorath approved! Now, the game is not perfect. It's got its bugs, and it's definitely not the best looking modern game, though I couldn't care less about the graphics. I noticed, that when you talk to NPCs they're really quiet, but when they speak outside of dialogue options, they're back to being normal/loud. I'm not sure if that's a problem with the game, or if it's my system having trouble with modern games. Either way, the game never crashed! Something I definitely do not miss from Elder Scrolls games. Still not convinced? Here, let me list a few things, that I believe all gamers will appreciate: -No microtransactions. -No predatory Nintendo 80 dollar price tag. -No forced political messages, or gender ideologies. -No game-breaking bugs, that makes it look like an unfinished product (at least I didn't experience any). Tainted Grail is fun first, and that's how it should be for all games. This, alongside games like Clair Obscure, and just AA and indie games in general, are continuing to prove that AAA companies are out of touch with what the players actually want. Definitely a 10/10 from me. This is easily my favourite game of 2025, and I wish the developers nothing but success for all their future projects.
Darkwood is a grotesque survival horror game, that relies on terror and the fear of the unknown, instead of the usual jumpscares most are accustomed to, and I absolutely love it for it. Also, insert comment here about how Darkwood is the Dark Souls of horror games. And now for something negative. โฅโฅโฅโฅ the banshees and everything they stand for. If there was an enemy I would remove from the game, it would be them. Overall it's still an amazing experience. 9/10 from me.
