The bottom line is, you can't beat the price! At the time of writing, the game is completely free. But for those more discerning, this is a short (circa 3 hours if you go for 100%), slow paced platformer with only the… vaguest outline of a story. You're just a sentient plushy walking to the right, jumping over pits, pulling levers, and popping a squat to activate elevators. The story comes from the world you're walking through -- audio records, letters, and scenery items are scattered throughout. The platforming does make demands of you, but resets are generally pretty quick (the exception is dying on boss fights. You get to watch the boss intro cut scene every time you die, but they do give you a fast forward command). You gain a few abilities throughout your adventure, but there's not all that much time to fully develop them. You get a few tests of your new skills and then the game is over. There are also secrets to find which may lengthen your play time. They're pretty well hidden, so I didn't find them all -- I don't love the idea of bonking into every wall in the game to make sure it's not a fake wall. Still, it's an enjoyable experience. If they ever charge for the game, it's worth $3-4, mostly on the grounds that it's so short.
One button. ONE BUTTON. (okay, sometimes 6 buttons, but still...) One button is all this game needs to present a fun experience. One button is all it needs to create one of the most difficult games of all time at the highest… level (seriously, some levels are like 1000x more difficult than a Soulslike). This game has some of the best electronic music I've listened to, with incredible songs like "Hexagon Force" by Waterflame, or "Theory of Everything 2" by DJ Nate, and it uses them to fullest, with great visuals (they get better the farther in you go) and unique, rhythm-synced gameplay to every level. While sure there are some things that this game does poorly (like some UI elements, one gameplay option (*cough, cough* Mirror portal), and describing the use of different objects in the Level Editor), for the most part, it nails it. It's fun, while remaining very difficult. It has unique gameplay, but doesn't leave you in the dark as to what to do. The practice mode, and progressively increasing difficulty in the early parts of the game, and the slow feeding of new mechanics allow the player to improve at the game without ever feeling like they have no way of getting past the next obstacle, since in the back of their mind they always know the only thing blocking them is the effort and skill they have to put in. On top of this, the level editor, and the public, user-generated levels that come from it are incredible, with some levels having visuals rivaling real art (or being art in and of themselves), and others providing extremely fun, unique experiences that you can get nowhere else. This game is truly endless, with tens of thousands of good levels made by the community, and so many more to come! In fact, you could be one of them! The level editor has so many options, and has vast array of options for you to choose from! Any colors you want! Any object you want! Oh, there isn't a cactus for your Western themed level? Make one yourself! The options, truly, and I mean truly, are endless. Anyway, back to the gameplay. Geometry Dash is unique, because with only one button, it manages to make you jump, teleport, change the direction of gravity, fly, swap directions in a single frame, sometimes control multiple characters at once, and so, so much more. The amount of gameplay elements there are for a MOBILE game with ONE BUTTON, is insane. Oh, and by the way, there's more content that I haven't even discussed. Like an entire other gamemode being more like a traditional platformer, community events, daily and weekly levels (in case you find it hard to choose), thousands of player customization options, a worldwide leaderboard for multiple categories, incredible music libraries for you to choose from for your own levels, tiny little secrets here and there, a (mostly) fun community with tons of talented creators, and new updates every once in a while (if RobTop would ever finish them, lol). Anyway, this game is like $5 dollars on Steam, and $4 on mobile, go buy it and then tell me how attempts you have when you finally beat Time Machine (it's probably gonna be a lot). There's an endless amount of hours you could put into this game on any single front (casually, hardcore, creating levels, doing unique challenges, etc.). If you have the time to spend, and don't got anything better to do, consider buying this game.
Similar formula to megaman but after hitting the enemy you gotta do damage by sendin lightning their way, sounds simple, makes gameplay incredibly fun and complex Copen and kirin bring interesting gameplay to the 2nd and 3rd release, with copens gameplay being… so fun he also got a trilogy with the third game on the way
really great action with awesome bosses and interesting mechanics recommended to play it til the end but its still a great game to just play some hours
It even has a deck of cards! In this game you are task to complete the hellish gauntlet of a randomly generated golf course to cheat death itself. Its got great art ad characters and a gameplay loop that will get you… thinking long and hard about each swing. These golf courses aren't simple. There are many obstacles to content with. New obstacles will get introduced to you the further you get in a run. Play your cards right and you'll be able to make it through under par! You're able to play a card before each swing and these cards allow you to redirect the trajectory of the ball, remove certain obstacles, give your swing more OOMPH, and much more. These cards will influence how you plot a course through each level and adjust for any mistakes you make along the way. The best part about this game is the cathartic feeling of overcoming a course with proper planning and execution. In that aspect, it resembles golf perfectly. But I have my gripes. Cursed to Golf is a roguelike. I don't have any issue with that genre, but I feel that some roguelikes sacrifice a lot of potentially fantastic level design when adhering to the genre. The randomly generated levels need to account for a player doing card-less swings and it severely restricts the level design. Even the environment has to bend to the will of level generation. It's tile-based, blocky, and isn't very compatible with smacking a ball around. You can still make that work, but what about the permadeath? You are sent back to the beginning of the game for each failure. Cursed to Golf's gameplay is like figuring out a puzzle and solving it with precision. On repeat, it feels lame to have to redo levels you have already solved and figured out. The beauty of a roguelike is supposed to be the each run is different, but in Cursed to Golf neither the cards or the level design will change gameplan here. It's a long game too. A full run may take 8 hours so you might need multiple sessions to beat the game. What if you were to mess up near the end? Would you be excited for the next run? Had this game been designed with each level being hand-crafted and didn't make you redo the whole game upon failing I genuinely think it would have turned out better. As it is, it's still very fun. Whether or not the level design/permadeath bothers you is up to your tolerance. I think it's still worth a shot though. Pulling off fun 2D golf is a remarkable feat on its own.
To begin with, I have not finished the game. BUT that is more of a victim of lack of time and not a indictment of the game. Sea of stars is a great game to remenise of older games. Involvong new mechanics… to keep this fresh. The story is good (so far) and having elements of humor (not laugh out loud but some heart chuckles). I do plan to finish this game eventually.
The game is very, very difficult and sometimes straight up random. But that's fine. This isn't a game designed to be fair and for this reason I think it may not appeal to everyone, this is a game that simulates an ecosystem… and you, the player, are just a small animal with small animal characteristics whose goal is to survive. -Gameplay: The gameplay can get a bit repetitive and, as I said, it can and will be unfair at times, so I think that this part heavily depends on your personal taste. 6/10. -Graphics: This game feels like it has AAA lighting in a pixel art enviroment (also the procedural animations are peak). 9/10. -Audio: The audio is very well crafted and helps to make the world feel alive, but the music (even though it is kinda good) plays very rarely during the playthough (<10% of the times). 7/10.
I think i got the most out of it in 10 minutes of playtime. I tried the 3 modes that were unlocked but they felt like the same thing. Don't make a timer a whole other game mode, make something that plays… differently than the other gamemodes.
This game is extremely fun both solo and with friends or even randoms (although it’s way better with others then by yourself), all of the stuff in the “battlepass” is unlockable through gameplay, there is no FOMO anything from previous seasons is… rolled back into the in game loot, the DLCs are purely cosmetic and are just to help support the devs and it has mod support
philosophy brought to you in an way you have never experienced before. this game makes you think deep thought. Wat am i . is she my enemy . am i the bad guy. Wat is this world. and the answers are out… there. just out of reach. i was very satisfied with the ending i got. play this one blind . i have played maybe half of the possible princesses and i fully intend to play the other half when i need some more deep thoughts.
The Weapons Characters, and Progress is really satisfying, and the workshop mods bring it to another level, Also the DLC (second coming out later this year) are a great bang for your buck, they add lots of content, for 2 dollars (hours… aren't exact due to playing on multiple different platforms (XboxPC, Steam, and Epic)
Nice! I got this game for the wife & played with her. It was enjoyable, a lot of stuff to do, almost overwhelming haha. I kinda stopped after a few hours, but these "farm explore" games aren't really my type. I want… to watch someone else play this and talk to me about it, like in the background or somethin
A silly game where you are a squirrel with a gun, sometimes a bigger gun. 3d platformer style game. Worth a play. Doesn't take itself serious
